Okay, if I have to be honest with myself, that is not entirely true. However, as a life long introvert, I can promise you that I often enjoy spending time inside my head in order to escape from the din of every day life. I like to think of it as a quiet an unassuming space, but then every so often, a glimmer of an idea comes roaring forth and begins to tap dance on bubble wrap while playing a trombone. Try as I might, I simply CANNOT ignore it, and so ultimately it gets removed from my mind and placed on paper where I can only hope it will behave itself. There is a 87.2% chance that it does not.
Hello, my name is Shelley, and I will be your aspiring author for the evening…or morning if you are reading this while supping a cuppa. I want to introduce this space as a place where I can talk about what writing is like behind the scenes. I will admit, when I decided to take the plunge to write my first novel, I was but a babe in the woods, and after seven months of pouring my soul onto pages by the cold glow of my monitor, I wonder what am I still doing in the forest and why am I still wearing a diaper! Well, it is because there is so much to learn, and I am learning still. So I invite you to join me while I talk about my writing journey, about what I have uncovered, discovered, and sputtered through to get me to the point where I am right now.
